My name is Cheryl Marland-Thomas and I am a volunteer with Pets & People Foundation. I have put together a packet for your review.
Zoey is a 7 year old, chocolate Labrador and has been a Therapy Dog for 6 years now. Her very sweet, calm personality has been a great gift working with kids in a local library. Kids from the ages of 5-10 years of age have been reading to her and she snuggles in with them, as they read her their favorite book. She loves the experience and the kids love her.
I have had many years volunteering with the Pets & People Foundation, combined with my current Therapy Dog Zoey, and my other now retired Therapy Dog Jessie. The organization is a wonderful group of dedicated men and woman who believe in assisting people using their own pets.
I would like to meet with you and your team of reading teachers to see if Zoey and I may be a good fit for your program. I am very flexible with my time and can work with the team to schedule times that could benefit all involved.
I have recently retired from a 30 year Pediatric Nursing Career, so I am very comfortable working with children of all ages. The best part of this job is that I too, just listen to the stories being read and enjoy it as much as Zoey.
I have included my Mission statement of the Pets & People Foundation, an all volunteer, nonprofit, 501C3 organization that has been round since 1985. For more information, please look at their website: www.petsandpeoplefoundation.org and Facebook page: facebook.com/Pets-People-Foundation-Inc-115611018492545/
Please notify me at your convenience, if you would like to meet with me to further discuss the possibilities of Zoey and I working with your team.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Marland-Thiomas
